Wrestling set to face Bucknell and Buffalo

The LHU wrestling team will make the short trip to Bucknell tomorrow (Dec. 18) where they will face off against host Bucknell and also open the MAC schedule against Buffalo.

12/17/2021 12:30:00 PM

Setting the Stage:

Fresh off a three-win weekend at the Messiah Duals last Saturday, head coach Scott Moore and the Lock Haven University wrestling team are looking for two more wins tomorrow (Dec. 18). First at 12:30 p.m., the Bald Eagles take on Mid-American Conference (MAC) foe Buffalo University, in The Haven's first MAC dual since February 22, 2020 against Rider. Then at 2:00 p.m., LHU squares off against host Bucknell University in a non-conference matchup with the Bison.

LHU in the InterMat rankings:

125: Anthony Noto #27

Last weekend, Anthony Noto came off his redshirt and picked up three wins at the Messiah Duals, two of which came by tech fall and then a third by way of a pin. The Bald Eagles 125-pounder moved to 15-1 on the season and soared into the InterMat rankings at No. 27.

Opponent History:

Bucknell: The Bald Eagles sport a 19-3 all-time record versus the Bison, and in their most recent matchup, LHU came away with a 31-9 victory back in 2018.

Buffalo: LHU holds a 6-4 advantage over the Bison, but Buffalo won the last meeting between the two and edged out a 17-16 victory. Saturday's dual, however, marks the first meeting between the schools as Mid-American Conference opponents.
