ITHICA, N.Y. –The Lock Haven University women's basketball team (4-4) fell to Cornell University (5-6), 82-48, in a non-conference matchup with the Division I Big Red from the Ivy League.
Cornell started the game on an 11-0 run and took a 48-16 lead into the halftime break behind 55 percent shooting from the field.
Ahnera Parker (Lancaster, Pa./J.P. McCaskey) led all scorers with 13 points in the first half.
The Big Red continued their strong shooting in the second half and brought home the 82-48 victory.
Parker finished the day with a game-high 19 points on 9-16 from the field. Parker also added a three-pointer and four steals to her strong individual performance.
Brooke Lawyer (Hanover, Pa./Delone Catholic) also reached double figures for Lock Haven and knocked in 14 points on 5-7 from the field, including 4-5 from beyond the arc. Lawyer also hauled in five rebounds and one steal.
On the glass,
Jaynelle Robinson (Williamsport, Pa./Williamsport (Monroe CC)) hauled in a game-high nine rebounds. Robinson was also stout defensively with two steals and one blocked shot.
