Bald Eagles make first-ever appearance in NWCA poll:

After a strong opening month to the season that saw a number of impressive finishes, the Lock Haven University women's wrestling team jumped into the national rankings and claimed the No. 15 spot in the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) rankings, behind Jessica Johnson's No. 8 national individual ranking in the 155 weight class.

Early Season Highlights:

Back on November 7th at the ESU Open, Jessica Johnson claimed the individual tournament championship at 155 pounds. She went 4-0 on the day and knocked off preseason No. 7 Taylor Hites of Tiffin by way of VPO, 8-0. Johnson opened her season 5-0 and added two tech falls and a pin.

Madison Packer made her debut at 109 on the road vs. East Stroudsburg. She collected the tech-fall, 10-0, and joins Jessica Johnson as the only remaining undefeated wrestler on the LHU team.

Alayna Gil joins Johnson with five wins. Her 5-1 start to the season is highlighted by four pins and a tech fall. Gil and Madison Matta lead the team in pins with four. Each of Matta's wins have come by way of pin.
