ERIE, Pa. – The Lock Haven University lacrosse team (1-2, 1-2 PSAC West) fell on the road against nationally ranked Mercyhurst (5-1, 3-1 PSAC West) today (March 27) in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Western Division action.
The No. 22 Lakers jumped out to a quick start, scoring the games first four goals.
Caitlin Morrow (Massapequa, N.Y./Massapequa) put the Bald Eagles on the board first when she fired home a free position shot to trim the Mercyhurst lead.
Mercyhurst used its quick start to the game and carried a 10-4 lead into halftime.
Morrow and
Braxtin Reddinger (Hanover, Pa./New Oxford) did all they could in the second half to try and spark an LHU comeback. Morrow and Reddinger either scored or assisted on each of Lock Haven's four goals to start the second half.
The Mercyhurst offense proved to be too much in the end and the Lakers ultimately won the game, 16-11.
Reddinger led the way for the Bald Eagles scoring three goals of her own and adding an assist to go along with two ground balls.
Morrow,
Josey Shaffer (Westminster, MD./Manchester Valley) and
Karli Gilbert (Perkiomenville, Pa./Boyertown) each scored twice for the Bald Eagles.
Zoe Waddell (Catonsville, MD./Catonsville) and
Casey Hibbard (Ontario N.Y./Wayne Central) were each credited with a goal in today's contest.

LHU will be right back in action on Wednesday, March 31 when the Bald Eagles will head to Seton Hill for another PSAC Western Division matchup.
