MANSFIELD, Pa. – The Bald Eagles homered three times and scored a total of 15 runs on 12 hits as they won a game-two slugfest, which helped the Lock Haven University baseball team (3-11, 3-11 PSAC East) split on the road at Mansfield University (5-13, 4-10 PSAC East) today in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division action.
Host-Mansfield won game one, 9-2, but Lock Haven bounced back and soared to a 15-10 victory in the nightcap.
The offensive surge in game two helped LHU snap a five-game losing streak as the Bald Eagles took to the field for the first time in 12 days. Lock Haven was coming off its scheduled conference bye-weekend and hadn't played since March 27.
The game-two victory moved Lock Haven to 3-11 overall (3-11 PSAC East), while Mansfield moved to 5-13 overall (4-10 PSAC East).
Mansfield won game one, 9-2, after scoring nine runs on 13 hits. Lock Haven's two runs came off three hits. Mansfield pitcher Hunter DePrimo was a big part of the story in game one as he scattered three hits, and struck out 10.
Justin Lichtenwalner (Landisville, Pa./Hempfield) was 2-for-3 at the plate and
Jake Mastillo (Moscow, Pa./North Pocono) was credited with an RBI in the day's opening game.
In game two, during the very first at bat of the game,
Reagan Lawlor (McMurray, Pa./Peters Township) hit a solo home run to right field and the offensive surge was underway. LHU and Mansfield combined for 25 runs on 20 hits as Lock Haven won 15-10, thanks in large part to the Bald Eagles three home runs and a five-run sixth inning.
Joe Shannon (Warminster, Pa./William Tennent (Mercer C.C.) hit a three-run home run in the second inning and
Isaac Porter (Beech Creek, Pa./St. Bonaventure) hit a three-run homer in the fourth.
In the game two win, Lichtenwalner went 2-for-4 with an RBI and five runs scored. Mastillo was 2-for-3 with two runs scored and two RBIs. Porter finished 3-for-5 with four RBIs and two runs scored.
Mike O'Halloran (Monmouth Beach, N.J./Shore Regional) was 2-for-5. As a team, Lock Haven recorded a triple and three doubles to go along with the three homers.

Kevin Worek (Huntingdon Valley, Pa./Abington) grinded out the victory for Lock Haven after 5 2/3 innings of work.
LHU and Mansfield plan to close out their four-game PSAC East series back in Lock Haven on Saturday, April 10. The first pitch of game one is scheduled for a 12 p.m. start.
