LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University tennis team opened the 2021 fall singles and doubles season on the road at the Bloomsburg Invitational this weekend. Along the way, the Bald Eagles picked up some notable wins and positive showings as a whole.
Saturday Doubles Day:
Saturday was Doubles Day at the Bloomsburg invitational.
Notably
Maddy Reeves (Montoursville, Pa./ Montoursville) and
Mia Shuler (Williamsport, Pa./ Williamsport) played well in their (4-6) loss. The two continue to build chemistry in Shuler's debut season for the Bald Eagles.

Sunday Singles Day:
Sunday marked singles competition and LHU came away with six individual wins. Reeves (2-0) and Shuler (1-0) went undefeated on the day; while
Hailey Risley (North Bend, Pa./Bucktail),
Christy McLean (Jim Thorpe, Pa./Jim Thorpe), and
Olivia Sharp (York, Pa./York County School of Technology) picked up a win each as well.
Reeves led the Bald Eagles with her two wins, sweeping her matches and winner her sets dominantly. She won her first match by way of set wins (6-2, 6-0) and her second by way of (11-6, 2-0) scores.
Shuler dominated her only match in similar fashion winning by the tune of (6-0, 6-1) sets.

Looking Ahead:
The Bald Eagles will travel to Susquehanna on Wednesday, September 29, for further singles and double action. Looking to expand on early successes, the team will bring a lot of the momentum from its early sets to the Selinsgrove, Pa. natives.
