WSOC: The Haven edged out by Millersville

Women’s Soccer drops match on the road at Millersville despite a close fought battle.

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University women's soccer team (2-1-1, 0-1-1 PSAC East) suffered a close 1-0 defeat on the road today (Sep 15) vs. Millersville (1-1-1, 1-1 PSAC East) in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) action.

Millersville scored in the fifth minute of the game to go up 1-0 and the Bald Eagles could never quite rally back against the stout MU defensive front. The LHU contingent never gave up on the fight. In the 88th minute Hunter McClellan (Granville Summit, Pa./Troy) sent a shot towards the Millersville goal, but it was saved by keeper Reagan Kolinski. In the end, the Marauders finished the day with a 1-0 victory.

In total, Lock Haven took six shots, landing two on goal. McClellan led the team with four shots (one on goal) and fellow underclassmen Evelyn Ciaccia (Fairless Hills, Pa./Pennsbury) took two shots, placing one on goal. The duo led the offensive effort for the Bald Eagles.

Kylie Auman (Centre Hall, Pa./Penns Valley) had an amazing game in goal for LHU. She collected seven saves and only allowed one goal. Her stellar effort kept The Haven in the game throughout the entirety of the contest.

LHU is scheduled to host West Chester this Saturday (Sep 18) at home at 12:00 p.m. The home match will be the first of two straight before Lock Haven takes the road to Shepherdstown, West Virginia on September 29.
