Eyler added a second period escape and a third period takedown to post a 9-3 victory in the bout at 165 pounds. Following Eyler's victory, the Crimson and White owned a 13-7 lead with four bouts remaining.

With 21 ticks remaining in the bout, Reid scored his third takedown of the period and rode out the final seconds of the bout, adding a riding time point to post a 14-6 major decision victory.
