Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Men’s Basketball falls to Bloomsburg

DaQuan Granberry led four Bald Eagles in double figures as LHU dropped a home contest to the Huskies.

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Junior guard DaQuan Granberry (Linwood, Pa./Chichester) tallied a game and career high 23 points to lead four players in double figures, but the Lock Haven University men's basketball team (4-6, 1-5 PSAC) fell by an 86-79 tally to visiting Bloomsburg University (3-7, 2-4 PSAC) on Wednesday night in Thomas Fieldhouse.  At the outset of the contest, Lock Haven got five quick points from Eli Washington (East Petersburg, Pa./Hempfield) and took a 7-4 lead. The Huskies went scoreless from the floor over the first four-and-a-half minutes of the contest while the Lock Haven defense forced four Bloomsburg turnovers.  After the Lock Haven run, Bloomsburg responded with one of its own to regain the lead. The Huskies ended the first half on a 19-7 run to own a 38-30 lead at the break.  Out of the intermission, Lock Haven slowly began chipping away at the Bloomsburg lead. After a MarkAnthony Fidelis (Largo, Md./DeMatha) three-pointer, Dymir Montague (Philadelphia, Pa./Neumann-Goretti) followed with a dunk with 15:11 remaining to cut the Huskies advantage back to four.
Lock Haven was able to knot the game up at 50 and once again at 62, but Bloomsburg again had an answer. The Huskies scored five quick points to surge to a 67-62 lead with five and change to play. Despite the best LHU efforts to close the gap, Bloomsburg converted its free throws down the stretch and held on for an 86-79 victory.  Granberry was impressive after earning his first start in a crimson and white uniform. The Linwood, Pa. native scored 23 points on 9-of-14 shooting to lead the Lock Haven offensive effort.  Washington and Fidelis added 13 and 11 points, respectively, while Montague rounded out the Bald Eagles in double figures with a 10-point evening.  Up Next:
