Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Men’s soccer edged out by ESU

Despite a strong effort, the Lock Haven men’s soccer team was edged out 2-1 by visiting East Stroudsburg in PSAC East play.

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University men's soccer team (4-5-2, 2-2-2 PSAC East) hosted East Stroudsburg University (5-6, 4-2 PSAC East) in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division action, and ESU stopped the Bald Eagles, winning the night match 2-1.

The Bald Eagles entered the match on a four-match unbeaten streak (2-0-2), but ESU stopped the streak.

From the opening whistle, Lock Haven dominated play and controlled the flow of the match.

The Bald Eagles' hard work paid off and they took the lead late in the first half thanks to a perfect shot from Austin Kravetz (Altoona, Pa./Altoona) who calmly drilled the ball home from 16 yards out after a short crossing-pass from Connor Swope (Dillsburg, Pa./Northern York) in the 40th minute.

Against the run of play, East Stroudsburg found an equalizer in the 66th minute. The Warriors were awarded a free kick and Abdulla Nuredini sent a bending shot up and over the wall, and into the side net from 24 yards out.

The Bald Eagles responded and took control again but found themselves trailing 2-1 after Hubert Herrera bent a corner kick into the top shelf in the 74th minute.

Davis Dull (Altoona, Pa./Blair County Christian) and Colton Swanson (Bradford, Pa./Bradford) turned in great performances helping the offense keep the attack going.
