PHILADELPHIA – The Lock Haven field hockey team (12-6) fell to Temple (13-5), 4-0, on Sunday afternoon. The non-conference contest with the Owls capped the 2022 regular season for the Bald Eagles and marks the program's most wins since the 2015 season.
 
Despite the result, the Bald Eagles had already locked themselves into an Atlantic 10 (A-10) Semifinal showdown on Thursday (Nov. 3), and now focus on a rematch with the No. 2 seeded Minutewomen of UMass.
 
After a scoreless first period, the Owls grabbed goals in the 18^th and 20^th minute from Megan Phillips and Agustina Tucceri, respectively. Temple carried a 2-0 lead into the halftime break.
 
Alize Maes notched the third goal of the day for Temple in the 37^th minute and also handed out her second assist of the day on the Owls final goal of the day by Nienke Oerlemans in the fourth period.
 
Temple held a slight 13-10 lead in shots as Ellie Mead (Chesterfield, Va./Cosby (Coker)), Brynlee Pinschenat (Columbus, Ohio/Worthington Kilbourne) and Amy Stevens (Castle Creek, N.Y./Whitney Point) each fired off two shots for The Haven.
 
In goal, Kelsey Felix (Hallam, Pa./Eastern York) made six saves but was unable to stave off the Temple attack.
