No. 10 Women’s Wrestling Set for Busy Weekend; Host Elmira in White-Out on Thursday (Dec. 1)

The Lock Haven women’s wrestling team will host Elmira on Thursday before traveling to the Northeast Regional Duals on Sunday.

The Challenge Awaits:

The nationally-ranked Lock Haven women’s wrestling team is set to welcome Elmira to Thomas Fieldhouse on Thursday (Dec. 1) night at 5:45 p.m. for the White-Out Match, followed by a trip to the Northeast Regional Duals hosted by Gannon on Sunday.

Last Time Out:

The Bald Eagles bullied past No. 15 New Jersey City in their last action on the mat. The No. 10 ranked Lock Haven took four of the five contested bouts on the night, including two by bonus points, to take the clash 27-12.

Bald Eagles in the National Rankings:

On November 17, the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) released the latest NCAA Women’s Wrestling rankings, and the Lock Haven women’s wrestling jumped to the No. 10 spot buoyed by their dominant victory over previously No. 14 ranked East Stroudsburg on November 10.

Opponent History:

Still in just their second full season of competition, the Bald Eagles have met Elmira just once previously. That meeting was a 23-21 win on the road for Lock Haven and was highlighted by a Madison Matta pin at 136 and a decision victory from Jessica Johnson at 155 pounds.
