Volleyball drops conference clash with Kutztown

The Lock Haven volleyball team headed on the road for a conference contest with Kutztown.

KUTZTOWN, Pa. – The Lock Haven volleyball team (1-23, 1-12 PSAC East) visited Kutztown University (13-11, 7-6 PSAC East) for a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division contest on Friday night, and the Golden Bears grabbed a 3-0 (25-19, 25-21, 25-15) victory.

To start off the night, the Bald Eagles and the hosts played a competitive first set, Evie Jane Rembold (Lock Haven, Pa./Central Mountain) knocked down four kills in the set, but Kutztown pulled away late to secure set one, 25-19.

The second set was tight yet again, but the Golden Bears grabbed the crucial points to take the set, 25-21. Kutztown repeated their success one more time to complete the night, winning the final set, 25-15.

The Bald Eagles defended the net strong, as Samantha Swenby (Evergreen, Colo./Evergreen) and Alyssa Daley (Everett, Pa./Everett) highlighted five Lock Haven players with multiple blocks. Rembold also led the team with eight kills on the night.
