LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University women's wrestling team (6-2) finished the dual season on Sunday (Feb. 13) and picked up a win over Hiram College, but dropped a dual with East Stroudsburg University in the Lock Haven Quads in Thomas Fieldhouse.
Dual 1: W, 25-15
In the two contested bouts of the dual, the Bald Eagles spilt with Hiram. At 109, Hiram's Kylee Bentley secured a pin to move Hiram ahead 5-0.
Lily Sherer (Shohola, Pa./Delaware Valley) made her presence felt at 130 and secured a quick takedown and the pin at the 1:11 mark over Hiram's Bethany Smith. The win moved Sherer to 9-3 on the year and marked her fifth pin on the season.
The teams traded forfeits in the remaining bouts and the Bald Eagles earned the 25-15 dual victory.

In six contested bouts, the Bald Eagles won four of the six matches but fell on team score to the Warriors 26-15.
Following a no contest at 101,
Madison Packer (Lock Haven, Pa./Central Mountain) muscled her way to a convincing 11-0 tech fall over ESU's Janieliz Cotto. Packer ended the match at 2:18 mark and pushed her unbeaten season to 8-0.
In the most entertaining bout of the day,
Carly Gross (York, Pa./West York) fought her way to a 14-10 decision over the Warrior's Natalie Dunn. Gross fell behind late in the second period 10-8, but battled back with two late takedowns and two exposure points to push ahead in the final seconds. Gross moved 7-3 on the year and pushed the Lock Haven lead to 7-1.
ESU notched pins at 123 and 130 before
Madison Matta (Blue Ridge, Pa./Waynesboro) got The Haven back on track with a clinical 11-0 tech fall over Cameron Nunez at 136-pounds. Matta earned the win at the 2:05 mark after an early takedown which she worked into back points for the tech fall.
Jessica Johnson (Manalapan, N.J./Manalapan) continued her unbeaten season with a tech fall over ESU's Avia Bibeau in the final contested bout of the day. Johnson moves to 11-0 on the season and used early back points to push her way to the finish at the 2:41 mark. Her win cut ESU's lead down to 16-15 but two Bald Eagle forfeits at 170 and 191 secured a 26-15 win for the Warriors.
