Wrestling travels to conference rival Rider on Sunday

The Bald Eagles travel to Lawrenceville, New Jersey on Sunday (Feb. 6) for an important MAC dual.

Setting the Stage:

The Bald Eagles are on the road for an important Mid-American Conference (MAC) dual at Rider on Sunday, February 6th at 2:00 p.m. The Bald Eagles currently sit in first place in the MAC Eastern Division at 7-5 with a 3-1 MAC dual record. Rider comes in at fifth place in the MAC East at 2-5 overall and 2-3 in MAC duals.

The Haven hosted a packed field on Saturday (Jan. 29) and put together a strong outing as a limited lineup of Bald Eagles competed. Gable Strickland and Tyler Stolzfus each notched runner up finishes at 133 and 174-pounds, respectively.

Streaking Bald Eagles:

The Bald Eagles 21st-ranked 125-pounder Noto is one of a number of Bald Eagles currently on a long winning streak. Noto has 23 wins overall and has won 20 consecutive bouts going in to Sunday. Also, on a double-digit streak is the 24th-ranked Eyler at 165-pounds who has notched a team-high 26 wins including 15 in a row. At 285, Reid has won nine straight bouts and sits at 14-1 overall. Rounding out the in-form Bald Eagles is the 31st-ranked 157-pounder Barton, who has won seven in a row with an overall record of 19-7.

Opponent History:

The Bald Eagles meet former Eastern Wrestling League (EWL) rivals Rider for the 28th time on Sunday. LHU holds a 17-10 advantage in the all-time history. The two meet as MAC rivals for just the second time, after Rider escaped Thomas Fieldhouse in 2020 with a 20-17 win which came down to the last bout of the night.
