Setting the Stage:

Fresh off its most dominant performance of the season, the Lock Haven University women’s basketball team heads to the No. 1 seed in the conference Kutztown on Wednesday for a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Quarterfinal matchup. Tipoff for Wednesday (Mar. 2) night’s game is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.

First Round Triumph:

In what was the biggest win margin of the season for LHU, head coach Jennifer Smith and the Bald Eagles also used a historic defensive effort and a 24-point outburst from true-freshman Brooke Lawyer to blow past Shippensburg 64-34 in Monday (Feb. 28) PSAC First Round matchup.

The 30-point win for LHU was the first since 2019, and on the defensive side the 34 points scored by the Raiders was the fewest for Ship since the 2018 season.

The Opponent:

Kutztown was ranked second in the NCAA Atlantic Region rankings last week and was as high as 20th in the national polls. The Golden Bears took both games from Lock Haven this year, but the streaking Bald Eagles will look to change that on Wednesday night. For the full Golden Bears stat page Click Here:
