WINTER HAVEN, Fla. – The Lock Haven University softball team (3-4) picked up a convincing 9-3 win over Concordia St. Paul (12-3-1) on Sunday evening at the PFX Tournament in Winter Haven, Florida.

Summer Peters (Lancaster, Pa./Lampeter-Strasburg) got the scoring started in the bottom of the first inning when she singled to center field to bring home
Riley McClellan (Granville Summit, Pa./Troy) and give LHU the early 1-0 advantage.

Concordia took the lead 2-1 in their half of the third inning, but LHU exploded for eight runs to push ahead to the decisive lead.

Delaney Good (Mifflinburg, Pa./Mifflinburg) tied things up at 2-2 with an RBI single, and Peters notched her second RBI of the day to give LHU the 3-2 lead.
Haley Lestician (Lawrenceville, N.J./Lawrence) also notched an RBI single before
Megan Ryder (Hughesville, Pa./Hughesville) was driven in on a
Mikayla Ruppert (Bethlehem, Pa./Liberty) fielder's choice RBI which put the Bald Eagles ahead 5-2.

A Concordia error brought in
Bella Schmitt (Dillsburg, Pa./Northern York), before
Morgan Karasek (Bangor, Pa./Bangor) put the icing on the cake with a three-run homerun to left field. The offensive outburst handed the Bald Eagles a decisive 9-2 lead, and LHU cruised home for the win.

The Golden Bears grabbed a run back in the sixth, but were held in check by
Madison Waltman (Turbotville, Pa./Warrior Run) who worked a complete game and picked up the 9-3 win. Waltman fanned 11 batters and allowed just six hits.

Good and Peters paced LHU with two hits apiece, while Karasek's three-run shot edged out a two-RBI day from Peters.
