After the tight opening frame, IUP netted the first five goals of the second stanza to own a 10-3 advantage with 7:05 to play in the first half. Abby Katrinak (Strongsville, Ohio/ Strongsville) netted her 20th goal of the season to put a stop to the IUP run before Krysta Reading (Warrington, Pa./Central Bucks South) scored to cut the score to a 10-5 Crimson Hawks advantage which is how the score would remain at the intermission.

Out of the halftime break, IUP pushed its lead to seven goals on multiple occasions, but the Bald Eagles wouldn't go down without a fight.
