LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University men's soccer team (0-2) hosted their first home game of the season against California (Pa.) University (1-1) in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East West crossover action and, thanks to a last-minute goal, the Vulcans claimed the win, 1-0.
The first half saw a quiet pace of play, with only four shots and one shot on goal by Tom Pombor (Williamsport, Pa./Williamsport). The rest of the half saw only two Bald Eagle corners.
The second half saw a change of pace. LHU fired six shots, including one on goal from both Colton Swanson (Bradford, Pa./Bradford) and Samuel Hershey (Lancaster, Pa./McCaskey). Cal (Pa.) created two shots on goal the entire game, but the Vulcans delivered one last push and scored on a back post header off a deep free kick with just 17 seconds to go.
Lock Haven's defense was stout throughout the contest, and the goal in the final minute was just the Vulcans second on goal.
