SCRANTON, Pa. – The Lock Haven women's tennis team (2-1) fell to Scranton (2-2), 6-3, on Thursday afternoon in a road non-conference action.

The Royals got off to a hot start and swept the doubles play to take the early lead.

The Bald Eagles split the singles play and took No. 4 through No. 6, but fell 6-3 on the day.

Delani Wolever (Northumberland, Pa./Shikellamy) grabbed a 6-1 & 6-3 win at No. 4 to improve to 3-0 in dual play.

At No. 5,
Christy McLean (Jim Thorpe, Pa/Jim Thorpe) won a back and forth 4-6, 6-2 & 10-4 marathon.
Mary Kathryn Hillman (Williamsport, Pa./Williamsport (Penn College)) also brought home an exciting 2-6, 6-4 & 10-4 win, but the Bald Eagles were unable to overcome the Royals strong start in doubles play.

The Bald Eagles turn their attention to the 2022 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Singles and Doubles Championships starting on October 8. The championships are hosted by Bloomsburg and run from Saturday (Oct. 8) through Monday (Oct.10).
