LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University volleyball team (0-6) took on Lake Erie College and Glenville State on Saturday afternoon in the 2
nd Annual Bald Eagle Classic, but fell in both.

Match 1 vs Lake Erie: L, 3-2 (18-25, 25-16, 25-21, 25-19)

Lock Haven came out strong and made noise right out of the gate. The Bald Eagles looked impressive and went on to win the set 25-18. However, Lake Erie bounced back in the second set and rode that momentum to three-straight wins to take the match 3-1.

The offense was led by veteran
Gabriela Fialova (Ledec nad Sazavou, Czech Republic/ (Indian River)) with nine kills, one ace and 22 digs.Â

Kelly Gaston (Centennial, Colo./Grandview) recorded 19 assists in the match, and
Riley Runk (York, Pa./Dover) notched 12 digs on the defensive end.

Match 2 vs Glenville State: L, 3-0 (25-16, 25-15, 25-21)

In their second match of the day, the Bald Eagles came up short as Glennville State came out strong and took the opening set 25-16. The Pioneers didn't look back in the second or third set and pulled away for the straight-sets win.

Emma Kelly (Cypress, Texas/Cypress Ranch) finished the match with nine kills.
Mandy Altsman (Zelienople, Pa./Seneca Valley), a true-freshmen, totaled 14 assists for the night.Â

Madison Eckley (Julian, Pa./Bald Eagle) helped the Bald Eagles out on the defensive end with 16 digs.
