CLARION, Pa. – Lock Haven men's wrestling team (2-6, 1-1 MAC) capped their weekend on the road with a Mid-American Conference (MAC) clash against Clarion University (8-3, 5-1 MAC), but fell to the hosts 22-14.
 
In one of the day's most entertaining bouts, No. 6 Anthony Noto (Lima, N.Y./Honeoye Falls-Lima (NC State)) grinded out a close fought 5-3 decision victory. The redshirt sophomore showed his skills with a flashy reversal to help seal the opening victory of the dual.
 
After falling behind early, No. 33 Gable Strickland (Benton, Pa./Benton) came roaring back against Mason Prinkey and used a handful of near fall points to rack up an impressive 22-5 tech fall to hand LHU an early 8-0 lead in the team score.
 
The Golden Eagles got on the board with two straight wins at 141 and 149 and cut the Lock Haven lead to 8-6.
 
At 157, Ashton Eyler (Millersburg, Ohio/ Claymont High (Iowa Central CC)) righted the ship for Lock Haven with a tight decision victory over Trever Elflin. Eyler muscled his way to the 5-2 win to push the Bald Eagles back ahead 11-6.
 
Clarion bounced back immediately, and rattled off four straight wins to put the dual out of reach and take a 22-11 lead.
 
In the afternoon's final bout, Isaac Reid (Saltsburg, Pa./Kiski) opened his account on the season with a 5-0 win at 285 pounds. Reid notched The Haven's fourth win of the day with a strong showing, but Clarion took home the 22-14 win.
