BOYDS, Md. –
Tom Pombor (Williamsport, Pa./Williamsport) scored the only goal of the match and his late-game heroics lifted the Lock Haven men's soccer team (4-5-3) to a 1-0 win today at the University of the District of Columbia (4-6-3) in non-conference action at the Germantown Soccerplex Stadium in Boyds, Maryland.
Pombor headed home a pass from
Colton Swanson (Bradford, Pa./Bradford) off a corner in the 90
th minute of play.
The Bald Eagles have now won two straight matches, while Pombor has also scored in both matches.
Lock Haven goalkeeper
Brady Freiwald (Altoona, Pa./Altoona) needed just one save to secure the shutout, his and the team's third clean sheet of the season.
For the Bald Eagles, the defense played well in front of Freiwald, and Lock Haven only allowed six total shots, including three on target.
