Men’s Soccer drops non-conference match at #13 Gannon

The Bald Eagles scored a goal in each half but couldn’t overcome a red-hot #13 Gannon University offense on Wednesday afternoon.

ERIE, Pa. – The Lock Haven men's soccer team (2-5-3) fell on the road to Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West affiliate No. 13 Gannon University (8-0-1), 5-2, in a non-conference match on Wednesday (Oct. 4).

Austin Kravetz (Altoona, Pa./Altoona) scored in the first half off a helper by Liam Stockbauer (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Mechanicsburg), while Noah Wamsher (Leesport, Pa./Schuylkill Valley) netted his first goal of the year in the second half to round out the scoring.

The freshman, Wamsher, finds the back of the net for the first time in his career in just his fourth appearance on the season. Kravetz score was his second on the season.

However, the nation's 13th-ranked squad scored twice in the first half before besting that effort with three more goals in the second half on its way to victory.

Kravetz led the Bald Eagles' offense with three shots, all coming on goal. Kade Black (Altoona, Pa./Altoona) added two shots on net.

In net, Lock Haven keeper Brady Freiwald (Altoona, Pa./Altoona) made four saves.
