LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven women's soccer team (1-7-1, 1-6-1 PSAC East) battled Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division foe Millersville University to the wire, but a second-half score led the Marauders past the Bald Eagles, 1-0, on Wednesday (Oct. 4).
The Bald Eagle defense was relentless through 67 minutes, fighting off a game-high 13 shots for Millersville, but the Marauders scored what proved to be the game winner with just over 20 minutes remaining to steal the conference victory.
Lock Haven's best chance to knot the score came with 14:40 to go when
Evelyn Ciaccia (Levittown, Pa./Pennsbury) sent a beautiful cross into the box to a cutting
Trinity Seaman (Annville, Pa./Annville-Cleona), but Seaman's shot was denied by the crossbar.
Sydney Stahl (Pittsburgh/Keystone Oaks) added a shot on goal.
The Bald Eagle defense held strong despite constant facing constant pressure and leading the charge was goalkeeper
Megan Miller (Wexford, Pa./North Allegheny), who finished with seven saves.
