WSOC: Bald Eagles close 2023 season at Millersville

The Bald Eagles traveled to PSAC East foe Millersville University on Friday for their 2023 season finale.

MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – The Lock Haven women's soccer team (4-13-1, 3-12-1 PSAC East) concluded its 2023 season on the road on Saturday night (Nov. 3), falling in a hard-fought 2-1 match at Millersville University (6-8-3, 6-8-2 PSAC East) in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division match.

After surrendering the first goal of the match in the 17th minute, the Bald Eagles knotted the game at 1-1 after Evelyn Ciaccia (Levittown, Pa./Pennsbury) drilled a penalty kick in the 32nd minute.

The goal was Ciaccia's team-leading 10th of the season. Ciaccia is tied for second for the most goals in the PSAC.

However, the Marauders scored what would serve as the game-winning goal just a minute later and shut the Bald Eagles out in the second half to secure the victory.

Lock Haven goalkeeper Megan Miller (Wexford, Pa./North Allegheny) collected six saves in 90 minutes, finishing her sophomore season with 100 saves.

In all, the Bald Eagles improved both their conference and overall wins from 2022. The Haven also scored seven more goals in 2023.
