The Lock Haven Department of Athletics mourns the loss of former football coach Jack Fisher.
Coach Fisher, a Lock Haven Football Hall of Famer, led the Bald Eagles as head coach for nine seasons from 1978-86.
Most notably, Fisher led Lock Haven to the 1979 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championship in just his second season as head coach. The Bald Eagles were 9-2 overall during that season and a perfect 6-0 in PSAC West play. Led by Coach Fisher, The Haven outscored opponents 314-168 on the way to the title. In the 1979 championship game, Lock Haven defeated Cheyney, 48-14.
Following the 1979 season, Fisher was named PSAC Coach of the Year.
Prior to taking over head coaching duties at Lock Haven in 1978, Fisher was an assistant coach at The Haven for four seasons from 1974-77. During his time at Lock Haven, Fisher coached four All-Americans, seven ECAC All-Stars and 79 All-Conference student-athletes.
