Box Score 2 LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University softball team (17-15, 7-9 PSAC East) rallied late in game two to secure a win and split with visiting East Stroudsburg University (23-11, 11-5 PSAC East) today in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division action.
ESU won game one 8-2, but the Bald Eagles bounced back and won game two, 5-3 for an important PSAC East victory and split.
Game 1 Recap: East Stroudsburg 8 – Lock Haven 2
Visiting ESU opened the day with an 8-2 win. Despite the loss,
Delaney Good (Mifflinburg, Pa./Mifflinburg) had another remarkable game at the plate. She was 3-for-4 with a run scored in game one.
Maci Brodzina (Warriors Mark, Pa./Tyrone Area) had a triple in game one.
The Warriors scored their eight runs on 13 hits and used four runs in the top of the seventh to seal the game-one win.
Game 2 Recap: Lock Haven 5 – East Stroudsburg 3
The Bald Eagles trailed 3-2 heading into the bottom of the sixth inning, but they responded in a big way and the late-game surge powered The Haven to victory.
LHU led 2-0 after three. In the bottom of the third inning, a
Summer Peters (Lancaster, Pa./Lampeter-Strasburg) double to left put Lock Haven up 1-0 as it drove in Good.
Haley Lestician (Lawrenceville, N.J./Lawrence) made it 2-0 with an-RBI single up the middle.
In the top of the sixth, ESU took a 3-2 lead behind a three-run home run.
The sixth inning proved to be a major moment in the game and the Bald Eagle bats found some late-game magic of their own.
Riley McClellan (Granville Summit, Pa./Troy) singled up the middle and drove in a run to tie the game at 3-3. She would score a few plays later and Lock Haven led 4-3.
Morgan Karasek (Bangor, Pa./Bangor) provided some insurance in a big way as she homered to left to make it 5-3.
Karasek finished game two with two hits. Peters was 2-for-3 with an RBI and run scored.
In game two, Good had one hit and she scored one run. The hit was a big one as it marked her 54
th hit of the season, and pushed her over 100 for her career. With 54 hits this season, she's nearing the all-time top-10 for a single season.
Pitcher
Kinley Gioglio (Stroudsburg, Pa./Stroudsburg) was credited with the victory after one and 2/3 innings. She didn't allow a hit or walk, and she struck out two with both strikeouts coming in the seventh.

The Bald Eagles will return to action on Tuesday, April 11 when they travel to Mansfield for a PSAC East doubleheader (2/4 p.m.).
