EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – The Lock Haven baseball team (19-20, 7-14 PSAC East) opened its final series of the 2023 regular season today (Thurs., May 4) at No. 19 East Stroudsburg (34-10, 15-7 PSAC East). The host Warriors won the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division series opener, 4-1, thanks to a late-game rally in the scheduled nine-inning game.
The Bald Eagles took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning when
Blaise Zeiders' (Selinsgrove, Pa./Selinsgrove) double to right field scored
Justin Lichtenwalner (Lancaster, Pa./Hempfield).
East Stroudsburg tied the game at 1-1 in the bottom of the second. The Warriors scored twice in the seventh and added a run in the eighth inning.
Zeiders finished the game with two hits (2-for-3, RBI).
Zach Kaatz (Stafford, Va./Mountain View) also had a double.
Pitcher
David Keller (Oreland, Pa/Christopher Dock Mennonite) struck out seven and allowed five hits over eight innings.
East Stroudsburg is ranked among the top-3 by the NCAA in the Atlantic Region and ESU is ranked among the top-20 this week in several national polls.

The Bald Eagles will close the 2023 regular season, and the series vs. ESU tomorrow (Fri., May 5) at home with a doubleheader. Game one Friday is set for a 12 p.m. start.
