The Lock Haven field hockey team is set to host Ball State Sunday (Sept. 10) at noon.
Sunday's contest will also serve as Military Appreciation Day, with all proceeds generated going to the Clinton County Veteran Affairs.
The Haven (2-2) returns home after a two-game road trip where it finished with a 1-1 record after downing Colgate 2-1 (Sept. 3), before falling to Saint Francis (Sept. 6) by the same score.
What you need to know:
- The Bald Eagles are 2-2 through the first four games under first-year head coach Anna Rogers.
- The Bald Eagles opened the Rogers' era in style, upending Queens (Charlotte) 7-0 in the home opener (Aug. 27).
- The Haven has since gone 1-2 overall, with every score on both ends finishing 2-1.
- Constanza Lopez Zabala is the Bald Eagles' leading goal scorer through four games as she has found the back of the cage three times, just one shy of her total from 2022.
- Kelsey Felix has started all four contests in net, securing a 2-2 record with five goals against and 16 saves.
- Lock Haven is 3-1 against Ball State dating back to 1985, with the last meeting happening in 2021, where the Bald Eagles took down the Cardinals 2-1 in Lock Haven, Pennsylvania.
- The Bald Eagles hold an 8-4 goal advantage over the Cardinals in the series.
- Ball State is 0-4 to start the 2024 season, falling 4-1 in their last contest to the University of New Hampshire. Ball State travels to Saint Francis tonight (Sept. 8) before visiting Lock Haven on Sunday.
