LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The nationally-ranked Lock Haven men's wrestling team will return to dual action this week and the Bald Eagles open a busy two days with a Thursday, Feb. 1 home match vs. longtime rival Clarion. The Mid-American Conference (MAC) dual is set for a 7 p.m. start Thursday in Thomas Fieldhouse.
Thursday's match vs. Clarion marks Lock Haven's annual "White Out" match. Also, there will be free giveaways Thursday for the first 200 Lock Haven students.
On Friday, Feb. 2, Lock Haven will head to Navy for a 7:30 p.m. non-conference match.
This week (Jan. 29), Lock Haven remained at No. 22 in WIN Magazine's national team rankings. The Bald Eagles are 5-8 overall in dual action and 2-2 in MAC duals. The Haven is 2-1 in MAC Eastern Division action.
Clarion will enter Thursday's match with an 8-6 overall record and the Golden Eagles are 3-1 in MAC action. Clarion won last season's meeting, 22-14. Projected starters - Alejandro Herrera-Rondon (No. 29, 157), John Worthing (No. 32, 174) and Cameron Pine (No. 30, 184) were all ranked in the NCAA Coaches' Panel Rankings.
Navy is 6-5 overall and the Bald Eagles downed the Midshipmen 24-17 last season. Navy's roster features six ranked in the recent NCAA Coaches' rankings including Brendan Ferretti (No. 28, 133), Josh Koderhandt (No. 18, 141), Andrew Cerniglia (No. 21, 165), Danny Wask (No. 20, 174), David Key (No. 33, 184) and Grady Griess (No. 15, 285).
Leading the way for the Bald Eagles is the dynamic front half of the lineup.

Gable Strickland (133),
Wyatt Henson (141) and
Nick Stonecheck (149) are all nationally-ranked at their respective weight class.
Noto, Strickland and Henson were ranked in the NCAA Coaches' rankings. Noto is ranked No. 8 at 125, Strickland is ranked No. 29 at 133 and Henson is ranked No. 13 at 141.
This week (Jan. 30), InterMat ranked Noto No. 8, up one spot from last week, and Henson remained at No. 11. Stonecheck jumped into the rankings at No. 32 (149).
Noto, a returning All-American, is 12-1 on the season and he now has 77 career victories.
Strickland has 21 victories on the season and Henson is 28-1 on the season.
Henson has won 26 straight matches and has 13 tech falls on the season, tied for the third-most ever in a single season for Lock Haven. For Henson, 12 of his 13 techs have come vs. Division I opponents and he ranks first in all of NCAA DI wrestling in the category this season.
Stonecheck went 2-0 last week and scored a major upset in the dual vs. Rider. Earlier this week, he was named the MAC East Wrestler of the Week.

Following Friday's (Feb. 2) non-conference dual at Navy, the Bald Eagles will return to action on Friday, Feb. 9 when they head to Northern Illinois for a MAC dual. The match is slated for an 8 p.m. EST (7 p.m. CDT) start.
