Defense powers Men’s Soccer to PSAC West victory over Slippery Rock

The Bald Eagles traveled to Slippery Rock for a PSAC West showdown on Wednesday.

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – Led by impenetrable defense and a game-winning goal by Carter Rosno in the 77th minute, the Lock Haven men's soccer team went on the road to down Slippery Rock 1-0 in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Western Division battle on Wednesday afternoon (Oct. 9).

After a defensive battle through 77 minutes of play, Rosno scored the game-winner off an assist from Connor Swope and The Haven defense clinched the shutout to secure the Bald Eagles third victory in the PSAC West this season.

Rosno found the back of the net for the third time this season, while Swope continued his scoring tear, notching his 15th point of the season on his team-leading fifth assist.

With the victory, the Bald Eagles improve to 5-4-1 overall and 3-1 in the PSAC West. The 3-1 mark puts The Haven at the top of the Western Division standings through four conference games. Slippery Rock slides to 2-3-3 overall and 0-1-2 in the West.

Lock Haven is 5-2 in its last seven games and has now shutout four teams in 2024.
