JOHNSTOWN, Pa. –
Eli Washington scored his 1000
th-career point to highlight the Lock Haven men's basketball team's opener in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East-West crossover play on Friday night (Nov. 22) at the University of Pitt-Johnstown. UPJ came away with the victory, 99-67.
Washington didn't wait long to join the illustrious list of Lock Haven men's basketball 1000-point scorers, as he opened the game with 13 straight points to become the 22
nd player in program-history to reach the milestone.
Washington led the Bald Eagles with 19 points and now has 1,010 points in his career. Washington added a team-high six assists and knocked down a team-high three trifectas.
Isaiah Stewart added eight points and four assists and
LaQuan Byrd also scored eight points.
Blake Deegan and
Gabe Springer chipped in six points each.
UPJ benefited from a dominant offensive showing and shot 71 percent from three (10-of-14) and 58 percent from the field overall. Jay Rose led all scorers with 20 points.
The Bald Eagles move to 2-4 overall and 0-1 in the PSAC West, while UPJ improves to 3-3 overall and 1-0 in the conference.
