PRINCETON, N.J. - The No. 17 Lock Haven women's wrestling team opened the 2024-25 season at the Princeton Open on Sunday, Nov. 3 and Azariah Moore and Alyssa Favara claimed top honors at 180 and 207, respectively.

Moore claimed the top spot at 180 after a perfect 2-0 day racking up a pin and tech fall. 

Moore opened up the day with a semifinal pin in 4:42 before downing Cornell's Eliana Eats by tech fall, 13-0 (2:37). 

Favara, a freshman, went 4-0 to claim gold at 207 recording three tech falls and a pin. 

Favara opened the day with a pin in 51 seconds before recording two tech fall victories to push herself to the finals. Favara defeated Presbyterian's Ella Beam in the finals by a 10-0 tech fall in 3:21. 

Nationally ranked - No. 9 - Lily Sherer finished second at 131. She went 3-1 on the day with two techs and a pin. Sherer fell to Presbyterian's Cassia Zammit in the finals. 

Summer Batts and Avry Ryhal both finished third. Batts went 3-1 with two pins and a tech at 103. Batts won by tech fall, 15-4 (4:15), in the third-place bout. Ryhal went 5-1 with two techs and a pin. Ryhal defeated Kiki Tuttle in the third-place bout by a 14-4 tech fall in 5:33 at 160

Jayleah Pletz and Trinity Monaghan both finished fifth. Pletz went 4-2 with two pins and a tech to place fifth at 124. Monaghan went 3-2 with two techs and a pin at 207. 

Paige Jackson finished sixth with a pin and tech fall.

Isabella Devito, Lucy Maris, and Lindsay Laws all placed eighth. Devito went 3-2 at 131 with two pins and a tech. Maris went 2-2 at 131. Laws finished 2-2 with a pin and a tech.
