LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Lock Haven men's track and field team opened its 2024-25 indoor season by competing in the Bison Open & Multi on Saturday (Dec. 8).
Matthew Muthler stood out as he placed third in the two-day Heptathlon. His score of 4,784 was enough for an NCAA Division II qualifying mark. That score earned him second in the Lock Haven all-time list and a new personal best.
Muthler was the only Bald Eagle to hit an NCAA qualifying mark today.
Josiah Schans hit a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) qualifying mark in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.34 placing fifth.
Another dominant performance was in the 300-meter race, where Ryan Miller ran 34.98, earning first place and a new personal best along with second on the Lock Haven all-time list.
Other placeholders on the track in the Bison Opener were Summers placing second and B. Miller placing third in the 400-meter with times of 51.68 and 51.93, respectively.
In the field,
Eric Zalar threw a personal best in the shot put (46.08 feet).
