WILSON, N.C. – After a 2-0 start to the season, the Lock Haven baseball team is set to return to action with four games over three days in Wilson, North Carolina at Fleming Stadium vs. West Virginia State and Jefferson.

LAST TIME OUT
The Lock Haven baseball team scored eight runs in each game to power its way to a non-conference sweep at Virginia State University on Saturday afternoon (Feb. 10). The Bald Eagles won the opener 8-1 before taking the nightcap, 8-2.
 
The Haven improves to 2-0 to start the season, while the Trojans fall to 3-2.
 
The Bald Eagles dominated the twin bill on both sides as they belted out 22 hits to score 16 runs.
 
The pitching staff also kicked off the year in style, as both starters limited the Trojans to one earned run, while the bullpen went four scoreless innings.
 
Following the week, Matt Lingenfelter (State College, Pa./State College) was named National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Atlantic Region Pitcher of the Week, the organization announced on Tuesday, Feb. 13.
 
Lingenfelter struck out seven hitters in five-complete innings, while allowing just one earned run to lead the Bald Eagles to an 8-2 victory over Virginia State.
 
His seven strikeouts are the second highest total in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) this season.
 
UP NEXT
The Bald Eagles travel to Charleston, West Virginia for a four-game non-conference series with Charleston University on Saturday and Sunday, March 2-3.
 
Lock Haven opens PSAC East play on Friday, March 8 when they host East Stroudsburg at noon for its home-opener.
