LOCK HAVEN, Pa. –
Delaney Good (Mifflinburg, Pa./Mifflinburg) broke the Lock Haven softball team's career batting average record during the Bald Eagles' Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division doubleheader with No. 15 East Stroudsburg (41-13, 23-9 PSAC East) on Sunday afternoon (April 28) at Lawrence Field. The Bald Eagles upset the nationally-ranked Warriors, 3-1, in game one, before falling 3-0 in the nightcap.
Good wraps up her career with a .416 batting average, as she compiled 187 hits in 450 at-bats to break Theresa Kovach's previous record of .408, set in 1993. Good broke the Bald Eagles' single-season hit record with 76 as a junior.
The Bald Eagles conclude the 2024 season 18-26 overall and 14-18 in the PSAC East.

Game 1 Recap: Lock Haven 3, East Stroudsburg 1
ESU opened the scoring with a solo run in the top of the first inning.
Bald Eagle starting pitcher
Faith Persing (Montgomery, Pa./Bloomsburg) settled in from there and followed with five scoreless innings to keep Lock Haven within striking distance.
The Bald Eagles tied the game when
Maci Brodzina (Warriors Mark, Pa./Tyrone) drove in Good with a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the third.
Lock Haven's big inning came in the bottom of the fifth when the Bald Eagles took their first lead by scoring two runs on three hits. Good drove in the go-ahead run with a double, before Brodzina knocked in an insurance run with a single to left.
The Lock Haven pitching did the rest as Persing limited the Warriors to just the first-inning run to pick up her team-leading 13
th win of the season. Persing totaled four strikeouts in the outing.
Gioglio entered the game with two outs in the sixth and did not allow a run to earn her first save of the year.
The Bald Eagles totaled five hits, led by a pair of base knocks by Good. Brodzina drove in a pair of runs.
Game 2 Recap: East Stroudsburg 3, Lock Haven 0
Both teams benefitted from excellent starting pitching in game two, as the game remained scoreless through four-complete innings.
ESU, however, struck for three runs in the top of the fifth to take the lead, before holding on to secure the victory.
Despite the loss, the Bald Eagles' pitching staff put together another strong outing. Schellhammer tossed 4 and 2/3 innings, allowing three runs, before handing the ball over to Waltman, who did not allow a run in 2 and 1/3 innings.
Peters and
Bella Schmitt (Dillsburg, Pa./Northern York) each had a hit for Lock Haven.
