COLLEGE PARK, Md. – The Lock Haven field hockey team kicked off its weekend of competition at the Terrapin Invitational with a non-conference game against American on Friday afternoon (Sept. 13) and the Bald Eagles fell 4-1.
American scored one goal in each period to earn the victory.
Melanie Beall scored her second goal of the season off a helper by
Deana Campbell in the fourth minute of the final period, but American regained the three-score lead five minutes later before closing out the win.
In cage,
Kelsey Felix made a game-high six saves in 45 minutes of action, before
Maja Halasz took over for the final 15 minutes and added a save.
The Bald Eagles' defense was strong and fought off a game-high 14 shots, including 11 on goal.
Lock Haven moves to 1-4 overall and American improves to 2-3.
