INDIANA, Pa. – The Lock Haven volleyball team kicked off its weekend at the Crimson Hawk Classic, hosted by IUP, with a pair of non-conference matches against Ashland and West Virginia State on Friday afternoon (Sept. 13). Lock Haven fell in both matches, 3-0.
Ashland Recap: 0-3, (16-25, 18-25, 20-25)
Kelly Gaston racked up 20 assists and 13 digs, while
Natalie Acevedo registered three aces and a team-high 16 digs.
Reagan Irons and
Alyssa Daley finished with a team-high six kills, while Irons added five digs and two blocks.
Lock Haven's top attacking set came in the third, where they finished with a team- and match-high 10 kills.
The Haven defense led the match with four blocks.
West Virginia State Recap: 0-3, (16-25, 14-25, 20-25)
West Virginia State took all three sets in the Bald Eagles' final match of the day to earn a 3-0 victory.
Gaston continued to rack up the assists and finished with 18 helpers and seven digs.
Acevedo added a team-high 12 digs to go with three assists, while Irons secured a team-high seven kills.
Lock Haven finished with a team-high 13 kills in the third set, leading to a team-high 20 points.
Lock Haven moves to 1-4 on the young season.

The Bald Eagles return for day two of the Crimson Hawk Classic tomorrow afternoon (Saturday, Sept. 14) and will take on Adelphi at 11 a.m. and host IUP at 7 p.m.

The Haven hits the road for its final non-conference tune-up on Saturday (Sept. 21), before returning to Lock Haven for its home opener on Homecoming Weekend when the Bald Eagles host Bloomsburg on Friday night (Sept. 27).
