LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven volleyball team fell in its home and Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division opener to Bloomsburg, 3-1 (23-25, 26-24, 15-25, 18-25), on Friday night, Sept. 27.
 
After eight road matches to start the season, The Haven returned to Thomas Fieldhouse for the first time in 2024 to host the Huskies. Friday's match was also the PSAC East opener for both schools and was the first home athletic event of Homecoming Weekend.
 
After falling narrowly in the first set (25-25-23), The Haven bounced back with a huge 26-24 victory in he second set to even the match at 1-1.
 
However, Bloomsburg won convincingly, 25-25 in the third set, before closing out the match to earn the 3-1 victory.
 
Kelly Gaston finished with a season-high 37 assists, while adding 11 digs and two service aces. Madison Eckley led the squad with three aces and finished with 17 digs. Nadalie Nicholson chipped in a team-high 26 digs and Emma Kelly added eight kills.
 
Avery Beall finished with a team-high 10 kills, while frontline mates Evie Jane Rembold and Alyssa Daley added eight and seven, respectively. The trio finished with three blocks each on defense.
 
Lock Haven moves to 2-6 overall and 0-1 in the PSAC East. Bloomsburg improves to 3-10 overall and 1-0 in conference.
