LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven women's soccer team closed the book on Homecoming Weekend with a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern division showdown with West Chester on Sunday afternoon (Sept. 29) at Hubert Jack Stadium. The Bald Eagles fell to the Golden Rams, 4-1.
 
Sunday served as the Bald Eagles Brooke (Rangi) Stilgoe '06 Memorial Match. On Aug. 20, 2024, Brooke lost her battle with brain cancer, peacefully, surrounded by her family and friends. To read more, click here.
 
 
West Chester kicked off the scoring with a goal in the 11^th minute, but Lock Haven responded just six minutes later to knot the score at 1-1.
 
Janessa Swartz sent a perfect lead pass to Sydney Stahl, who found the back of the net by sending a chip shot over the leaping Golden Rams' keeper. The goal was the first of the season for Stahl.
 
West Chester struck again in the 21^st minute to take a 2-1 lead into the break.
 
In the second half, the Bald Eagles held the Golden Rams in check for the opening 15 minutes, but WCU extended its lead to 4-1 with a pair of goals in the 60^th and 66^th minute to put the game out of reach.
 
In net, Lock Haven goalkeeper Megan Miller finished with game-high four saves.
 
Evelyn Ciaccia led the attack with three shots, including two on goal.
 
With the result, Lock Haven moves to 1-3-3 overall and 1-3-1 in the PSAC East, while West Chester improves to 4-2 overall and 3-2 in the conference.
