LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven men's soccer team took on Bloomsburg in a defensive non-conference showdown on Sunday afternoon, but the Huskies scored late to sneak out of Hubert Jack Stadium with a 1-0 victory.
With the decision, Lock Haven moves to 0-1-1 on the young season and Bloomsburg improves to 1-1.
In the first half, neither team found the back of the net and it was the Lock Haven defense that kept the game scoreless, as the Bald Eagles fought off three shots, while not recording a shot on offense.
The opening 25 minutes of the second half mirrored the first, however, Bloomsburg broke through with the go-ahead goal in the 69
th minute to take the lead.
The score was the final of the game for either team and the Huskies held on for the victory.
In net,
Brady Freiwald recorded three saves, but all three came at point-blank range and were crucial in keeping the Bald Eagles in striking distance.
Ryan Miller and
Carter Rosno recorded a shot on goal for Lock Haven.

The Bald Eagles remain home and will host non-conference foe Daemen (N.Y.) at 3 p.m. on Wednesday (Sept. 11) at Hubert Jack Stadium.
