Kvacky goal and Felix shutout leads Field Hockey to victory at Saint Louis

The Bald Eagles made the trek to Saint Louis, Mo. to take on Saint Louis in an Atlantic 10 contest on Sunday afternoon; Lock Haven picked up its first victory of the season

SAINT LOUIS, Mo. – Haley Kvacky scored and Kelsey Felix pitched a shutout to lead the Lock Haven field hockey team to a hard-fought 1-0 victory on the road at Atlantic 10 Conference (A-10) foe Saint Louis on Sunday afternoon (Oct. 26).

With the victory, The Haven moved into the win column both overall and in the A-10. Saint Louis falls to 5-8 overall and 1-4 in the conference.

Kvacky rattled the cage for her first goal of the season in just the eighth minute of action to put the Bald Eagles ahead. Kendall Siegle set up the score to notch an assist.

The score proved to be the game-winner as The Haven defense and Felix did not allow Saint Louis to strike for the equalizer, despite firing off a game-high five shots in the final period.

Felix added seven more saves to her impressive season total, including a pair of penalty stroke saves to keep the score 1-0 in Lock Haven's favor.

The Haven's offense accumulated 14 shots, just one shy of the season high, including five on target.

Molly Lynch and Melanie Bealle led the way with three shots each, while Siegle finished with a team-high two shots on goal.
