WEST CHESTER, Pa. – The Lock Haven women's soccer team traveled to West Chester to face off against the No. 16 nationally ranked Golden Rams for its final away Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) match of the season and fell in a thriller, 2-1.
West Chester scored a goal in each half to build a 2-0 lead with under ten minutes to go.
Senior Lauren Straub scored her first goal of the season in the 83rd minute to cut the deficit to one on an assist by Brooke Gehret.
However, WCU closed out the final seven minutes to secure the 2-1 victory.
The Bald Eagles fall to 4-9-2 (2-9-2 PSAC) while the Golden Rams improve to 11-1-4 (8-1-4 PSAC).
Lock Haven did not get a shot off in the first half, as they went down 1-0.
The Bald Eagles got their first shot-on-goal by Bryn Constanzer in the 53rd minute.
In the second half, The Haven gained momentum and fired off a game-high seven shots, with Straub leading the team with three. Constanzer added two of her own.
Lock Haven women's soccer career saves leader Megan Miller added seven more to her resume and now has 345 career saves.
