Women’s Basketball soars past Frostburg State, goes 2-0 during homestand

The Bald Eagles wrapped up a two-game homestand by hosting Frostburg State in a non-conference game on Saturday afternoon

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven women's basketball team concluded its two-game homestand in front of the home crowd of Thomas Fieldhouse with a convincing 86-59 victory over non-conference foe Frostburg State on Saturday afternoon (Nov. 22).
 
The Bald Eagles have won back-to-back games at home by 25-or-more points to even its record at 2-2 on the season. The Haven also scored 80 points for the second straight game.
 
Lock Haven forced a game-high 22 turnovers that led to 23 points and dominated the glass with a 43-15 rebounding advantage.
 
As a team, The Haven knocked down a game-high 27 free throws at an 84 percent clip, while also drilling 9-of-24 trifectas.
 
The Haven's best period came in the second, when it outscored Frostburg State (1-2) 28-16, behind 53 percent shooting from the field and 67 percent (4-of-6) from three.
 
Rhlyn Rouse led all scorers with 17 points and was the spark The Haven needed in the first half to start to pull away. Rouse added nine rebounds and finished a perfect 6-of-6 from the charity stripe.
 
Alana Robinson scored 13 points and continued her monster week on defense by leading the game with four steals and three blocks. Robinson also dished out four assists.
 
Madeline Evans recorded her fourth straight double-double to start the season with 11 points and a game-high 17 rebounds (11 offensive).
 
Jenadia Jordan rounded out the Bald Eagles in double figures with 12 points and four assists.
 
Lock Haven finished with 26 points from the second unit, led by nine points from Nufi Nemale-Djiegoue, who knocked down three 3-pointers.
 
Next Up
The Bald Eagles hit the road on Tuesday, Dec. 2 (6 p.m.) and will visit Roberts Wesleyan for their final tune-up before kicking off Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East vs. West action vs. Edinboro on Saturday, Dec. 6 (1 p.m.) inside Thomas Fieldhouse.
