EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. (Saturday, March 1) – The Lock Haven women's basketball team secured its second straight claim of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division Title after defeating East Stroudsburg 61-57 on the road this afternoon. The Bald Eagles went 14-7 in conference play to finish as Co-Champions of the regular season with Kutztown.
 
The Bald Eagles (19-8 overall) are PSAC East Champions for the second straight season. By virtue of the regular-season tiebreaker with Kutztown, Lock Haven moves to the No. 2 seed in the upcoming PSAC Women's Basketball Postseason Tournament. East Stroudsburg falls to 13-14 overall and 10-11 in the PSAC and will be the six seed in the PSAC Tournament.
 
Dating back to 2018, the Bald Eagles have reached the postseason for six straight seasons and have now won 19 or more games for the second straight year.
 
The Haven finished as the conference runner up in 2024 and will start its journey to a second straight title game on Wednesday, March 5 when it hosts the PSAC Quarterfinal at 6:30 p.m. inside Thomas Fieldhouse.
 
The Bald Eagles will host the winner of the opening round contest vs. No. 3 Bloomsburg and No. 6 East Stroudsburg. Tickets to the event are being sold by the conference office here. There will be no cash sales at the game.
 
In the contest, a slow start resulted in ESU building a 16-12 lead after one quarter of action, but the Bald Eagles responded by outscoring the Warriors 18-12 in the second to carry a 30-28 advantage into halftime.
 
The second half mirrored the first and ESU stole the third quarter 17-10 to jump out in front 45-40 with one period to go.
 
However, Lock Haven saved its best for last and erupted for 21 points during the final 12 minutes, while holding the Warriors to 12 points to steal the victory and secure the regular season title.
 
During the fourth-quarter run, Lock Haven shot 50 percent from the floor and knocked down 7-0 advantage at the foul line.
 
Rhlyn Rouse came off the bench to lead four Bald Eagles in double figures as the sophomore finished with 19 points (9-of-13) and five rebounds.
 
Double-double queen Madeline Evans netted 11 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, while Jenadia Jordan also finished with 11 points and dished out nine assists.
 
Kiera Baughman rounded out the Bald Eagles in double figures and finished with 10 points and went a perfect 6-of-6 at the charity stripe.
 
Alana Robinson filled the box scored with eight points, seven rebounds, two blocks and a game-high four steals.
