Tennis set to open 2025 spring season

The Bald Eagles open the 2025 spring season on Tuesday (March 25) against Penn College at the Central PA Tennis Center in South Williamsport

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven tennis team will kick off the spring portion of its 2024-25 season on Tuesday, March 25, with a non-conference match against Penn College. The match is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. and will take place at The Central PA Tennis Center in South Williamsport, Pa.

Setting the Stage: 
The Bald Eagles competed in five matches this fall and defeated Penn College at home 6-1 on Sept. 22.
 
Lock Haven is 4-1 all-time against the Wildcats.

Entering year one under Michael LeBlanc:
LeBlanc took over head coaching duties of the Lock Haven women's tennis team on Sept. 23, 2024.
 
LeBlanc coached the Bald Eagles final two matches of the fall season, before leading the way for the entire spring semester.

Megan Ferris and Alaina Marchioni led the Bald Eagles with three singles victories each this fall.
 
Maggie Blasetti, Mary Kathryn, Hope Lapinski and Maci Rohrbach also picked up singles wins.
 
Marchioni and Balchun each finished 2-2 in their respective doubles matches.

On the horizon:
Lock Haven will travel to East Stroudsburg on Saturday, March 29 at 4 p.m. for a PSAC East vs. West non-conference match.
 
Lock Haven will open its PSAC Western Division schedule by visiting Seton Hill on Sunday, April 6.
 
The remainder of the Bald Eagles' conference slate features IUP (April 9), Slippery Rock (April 11), Cal (Pa.) (April 17), Edinboro (April 19) and Clarion (April 23).
 
The Haven will host five matches at the Lock Haven Tennis Courts this spring, starting with Slippery Rock on Friday, April 11 at 3 p.m.
