Starr and Labrador lead The Haven to sweep of No. 12 Seton Hill

Baseball sweeps No. 12 Seton Hill, snap 10 game skid

SETON HILL, Pa. – The Lock Haven baseball team swept No. 12 Seton Hill due in part to a strong showing on the rubber for the Bald Eagles.

Garrett Starr led The Haven in game one, shutting out the Griffins 1-0. It is the first time Seton Hill has been shut out since April of 2024 against IUP.

Jason Labrador pitched a complete game in game two, holding the Griffins to one run. The Bald Eagles would go on to win game two, 5-1.

The win breaks Lock Haven's 10 game skid and brings them to 12-13 on the year and gain their first two wins in conference play. The loss drops the Griffins to 18-5 on the year.

Game 1 Recap: Lock Haven 1 – Seton Hill 0
Starr, the right hander, was phenomenal on the mound today for The Haven.

Starr tossed five strong innings, surrendering only two base knocks and two walks, while he struck out five. Starr pitched to a quality start and picked up the win, bringing his record to 5-2.

Jace Szaflarski picked up the two-inning save, providing a great outing out of the bullpen. Szaflarski went two innings, allowed one hit and struck out one.

The Haven was led on offense by Ethan Nagy (2-for-3) and Morgen Billotte (2-for-3). Nathan Wise hit a double and Zachary McEllroy drove in the lone run for The Haven in the first, which proved to be the difference maker.

Game 2 Recap: Lock Haven 5 – Seton Hill 1
Each team remained scoreless until the Griffins scored on an RBI double in the fourth.

Lock Haven would answer back with two runs of their own in the fifth, an RBI single from Joseph DeSiena and a sac-fly from Wise would put The Haven ahead.

The southpaw Labrador was extraordinary in this game, tossing a complete game. Labrador allowed one run on four hits, and he struck out three. The win brings Labrador to 2-2 on the season.

The Haven would add three more insurance runs in the seventh thanks to some timely hitting from McEllroy and some Seton Hill miscues.
