Lacrosse soars to PSAC West victory over Edinboro

The Bald Eagles erupted for 20 goals en route to a convincing PSAC West victory over visiting Edinboro

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven lacrosse team had 10 different players score and the Bald Eagles registered their season-high in goals en route to a dominant 20-5 victory over visiting Edinboro in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) game on Saturday afternoon at Charlotte Smith Field.
 
Lock Haven has now won three of its last four games to improve to 7-5 overall and 4-2 in the PSAC West. With the victory, The Haven takes a two-game lead for third place in the Western Division. Edinboro falls to 2-10 on the season and 0-6 in the conference.
 
Lock Haven scored nine goals in the opening 15 minutes and never looked back as they led from start to finish. Of the 10 players who scored, six found the back of the net multiple times, including a game-high five goals from Gabby Gunnip.
 
Lexi Blunk recorded a hat-trick, while Hadley Munn, Kaitlyn Collins, Makayla Kelly and Peyton Masters all scored twice.
 
Addy Palm, Jordan Ellis, Annie Peralta, Jordan Ellis and Emma Williams also scored as the Bald Eagles scored 20 goals for the first time since March of last season.
 
15 of the 20 The Haven scores came from an assist, as Williams, Addi Reidle and Nadia Baskot all recorded a team-high of three.
 
The Haven also won 15 draw controls, led by a game-high six from Kelly.
 
On the defensive end, the Bald Eagles limited Edinboro to just six goals and forced a game-high 13 turnovers. Three different Bald Eagles forced multiple turnovers, while Sam Houck and Anna Collins each scooped up a pair of ground balls.
 
In net, Gretchen King earned her seventh goalkeeping victory, while Landyn Dayton made a pair of saves after entering the game in the second half.
 
Next up for The Haven:
The Bald Eagles hit the road on Wednesday (April 16) and will visit Seton Hill for a 3 p.m. battle of the second and third place teams in the PSAC West.
