SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The Lock Haven tennis team earned its first victory of the spring by downing Penn College 5-2 at the Central PA Tennis Center in South Williamsport, Pennsylvania on Thursday afternoon.
With the victory, the Bald Eagles improve to 1-1 overall this spring.
The victory is the first of the career for
Michael LeBlanc, who took over as the program's head coach at the end of the fall season.
In doubles play, the Bald Eagles earned a pair of victories to take the match point.
At No. 2 doubles,
Maci Rohrbach and
Maggie Blasetti won 6-2. Christy Mclean and
Hope Lapinski earned a victory by default at No. 3.
At No. 1 singles,
Megan Ferris earned a 6-2, 6-1 victory over Ellen Buckley.
McLean helped seal the match with a 6-1, 6-1 victory at No. 3 singles over Kayla Weinzlerl.
Alaina Marchioni and
Breanna Chicas earned victories by default at No. 6 and 7 singles.
